Two young men found with Class B drugs in Bury St Edmunds have admitted they intended to supply others.
Oliver Clements, 21, of Salter Close, Bury, and Jack Allen, 19, of Layhill Close, Bury, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply at Bury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Allen also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of ecstasy, a Class A drug.
Stephen Coleman, prosecuting, said that on May 5 police saw a vehicle travelling without a headlight in Salter Close and had to catch it up at speed to offer their advice.
They became suspicious of the occupants’ behaviour, particularly Clements who ‘got argumentative’ and was seen dropping an object on the floor. Allen, meanwhile, dismantled a mobile phone.
A drug search uncovered 31 cannabis wraps containing more than 23 grams. Four more wraps, with more than 72 grams of cannabis, were found at Clements’ home, said Mr Coleman.
Text messages on Allen’s phone implicated him in the supply of drugs.
The pair were released on unconditional bail until their sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court.
