Orchard Barn, in Ringshall, has been awarded Lottery funding for its Access to the Orchard project.

The innovative scheme will see people taking part in a series of free traditional woodworking classes that will help to create features to allow wheelchair access to the site.

Sarah Partridge, manager of the environmental education centre, said the £9,100 Lottery funded scheme was ‘a very exciting project for us because we are going to create access for less able-bodied people’.

The workshops will run every last Friday and Saturday of the month for the next six months.

If you would like to get involved call Sarah on 01473-658193.

On Saturday, between 11am and 4pm, Orchard Barn is hosting an open day event with talks in the morning and demonstrations in the afternoon.
