Occupant challenged intruder as Mildenhall street hit by four crimes in one night

A Mildenhall resident chased an intruder who entered a residential property as four crimes hit a Mildenhall street in one night.

Two burglaries and two instances of criminal damage in Heathland Way, Mildenhall, are being linked by police.

The four crimes took place overnight between February 4 and 5.

One property was entered by an insecure downstairs window. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

A about 3.15am a second property was entered through an insecure door. One of the occupants heard the door open and challenged the intruder who fled out of the rear door and round the side of the house.

The victim saw the offender climb over a fence at the front of the property into College Heath Road and ran into the estate opposite.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with a black beard/ heavy stubble. He spoke with an English accent.

Police have linked the crimes with two further incidents where households had their security lighting tampered with and damaged.
