The store held a raffle, competition to guess how many sweets in the jar and sold plenty of tasty cakes. They dressed up in military outfits to add some extra atmosphere to the day.
Fran Mortlock, supervisor, said: We wanted to do it on a day when we knew the footfall would be higher and the Christmas Fayre was just right. We had a busyt Saturday as well and are very grateful to all the people who popped in and supported us.”
Scotty’s Little Soldiers was set up in 2010 by Nikki Scott who was widowed in 2009.
