A new St Nicholas Hospice Care shop specialising in children’s clothes and toys opened in Bury St Edmunds on Monday.

The store, at the Hardwick Shopping Parade, is teeming with toys, children’s clothing and shoes as well as womenswear, menswear and bric a brac.

Ian Daniels, hospice head of retail, said: “We decided to focus on children’s clothing and toys because of the number of families in this area and the shop’s proximity to schools and the Southgate Community Centre.”

He added that they are looking for donations of items to sell and appealing for anyone interested in volunteering at the shop for a few hours a week to get in touch.

Barbara Gale, hospice chief executive, said: “We’re really looking forward to being part of the community here.”

The shop is open every day except Tuesday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
