A long awaited cafe has opened in the foyer of the Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, selling ethically sourced coffee, Fairtrade speciality teas and freshly made food.

Aspretto, run by Sodexo Prestige, offers freshly prepared sandwiches as well as a selection of pastries, muffins and cookies. It is open 8am to 5.30pm weekdays and 10am to 4pm Sundays.

Used coffee grounds and tea bags are bagged and returned to the Sodexo base at Ickworth to be used as rich compost material.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council awarded Sodexo Prestige the contract last April to provide hospitality and catering at the Apex, Athenaeum and Abbey Gardens.
