A Bury St Edmunds choir has raised funds for charity by staging its first ever concert.

The Dayspring Community Choir raised £1,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care through its inaugural concert on March 22.

Launched last year, the choir meets on Monday nights on Bury’s Moreton Hall estate.

It aims to bring people of all ages together through singing and currently has around 50 members.

No auditions are required to join.

Anyone wanting to find out more should call musical director Barry Hart on 01284 723323.
