More than 1,100 noise complaints relating to RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall have been received by the Ministry of Defence since 2003.

More than 1,100 noise complaints relating to RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall have been received by the Ministry of Defence since 2003.

A Freedom of Information request has shown that between 2009 and 2013 the government department received an average of 131 complaints each year.

The highest number of complaints were received in 2012 when RAF Lakenheath attracted 133 enquiries and RAF Mildenhall 56.

RAF Lakenheath is home to the United States Air Force’s (USAF) 48th F-15 Fighter Wing.

The USAF’s 100th Air Refuelling Wing are based at RAF Mildenhall.
