The Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Robin Everitt, joined children at the town’s Busy Bees Nursery for a tea party last Thursday (August 21).

It was the Mayor and Mayoress’s first visit to the nursery and the children were excited to welcome their special guests for their end-of-term party.

Nursery manager Cathy Butler showed the VIPs around the pre-school when they arrived at 3:30pm.

They returned to the Pre-School room at 4pm to have tea and cakes with the children, many of whom are leaving the nursery for primary school next month.

Ms Butler said: “It was such a fantastic time for the children and a really nice thing to happen to the nursery.

“They all wanted to speak to the Mayor and show him things they had made or brought from home, and they were very interested in what he had to say.”
