The Mayor hosts a charity dinner at Valley Connection in Bury.

The Mayor of St Edmundsbury Terry Buckle staged a charity dinner on Monday which raised around £800 for local charities.

Forest Heath, Stowmarket, St Edmundsbury, Bury St Edmunds, Babergh and Breckland were among councils represented by dinner guests, with business people, honorary aldermen and freemen and even a judge among other attendees.

It was held at Valley Connection, in Bury, and raised a total of £775 for the Bury branch of Cancer Research UK and the Moreton Hall Youth Club.

Cllr Buckle said: “It was an exceptional meal in wonderful surroundings with some marvellous people.”

His next fund-raiser, the Mayor’s charity ball, will take place on April 4 at Ravenwood Hall, in Rougham.
