Man assaulted in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Bury St Edmunds last week.

It happened on Monday between 6.30pm and 7pm, in Beetons Way.

The victim, aged in his early thirties, was walking through the wooded area of the nature reserve heading towards Beetons Way. As he neared the end of this area, he became aware of two people standing beside the path.

As he passed them, he was struck to the lower rib area and knocked to the ground, suffering bruising as a result.

He got to his feet and turned to where they had been standing to see them running off towards the town centre.

They are described as male, both of stocky build, one around 5ft 6in tall and the other around 6ft 1in tall. They were both wearing black hooded tops with the hoods up, black trousers and black shoes.
