A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after incidents at St Edmundsbury Cathedral and St George’s Church, in Bradfield St George on Sunday afternoon.

At the cathedral, a man caused damage to a wooden gate, two silver candle holders and an embroidered silk table cloth.

At the church, a man took items and piled them up.

A 36-year-old man from Norwich was arrested in Essex and questioned at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre. He was released on police bail to return to the centre on July 23 pending further enquiries.
