Police were called to a Bury St Edmunds supermarket last night after someone was injured during an ‘altercation’.
Witness reports suggest up to four police cars, a police van and an ambulance attended the incident at Tesco, St Saviours Interchange, at around 11pm.
A police spokesman said they received several calls at around 10.45pm and arrived to find the victim had been hit over the head with a wine bottle inside the store. They were taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a cut to their head.
A 58-year-old man from Bury was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
