A call for volunteers has been made to help convert a former school site into a thriving community hub.

Thetford Town Council voted to take over the former site of Charles Burrell High School, in Staniforth Road, last week.

The council plans to turn the disused site into a hub for community groups and businesses to utilise.

Thetford Town Councillor, Terry Jermy, said: “We have fantastic community spirit in Thetford and I know that by working together we can make this a really great initiative and it will potentially benefit all residents of Thetford.”

Cllr Jermy said the council was also seeking support from businesses.
