A headteacher designate has been appointed for the proposed Ixworth Free School.
Nikola King has been recruited by the Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust for the top job at the school, which would open in September on the site of Ixworth Middle School.
Miss King has been teaching for 15 years and was recently deputy head at the Cornelius Vermuyden School, in Essex, which was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in 2012.
She said: “I believe the key to the success of any school is in the strong partnerships the school develops with its parents, carers and the wider community. By working together, we can ensure each student receives the best support and guidance. We can also encourage them to develop a lifelong love for learning.”
The Department for Education is expected to decide whether it makes a funding agreement for the school in the near future.
