Greene King golden beer St Edmund’s was given a clear vote of confidence by MPs when it featured as guest ale of the week at Parliament’s famous Stranger’s Bar.

The popular cask-conditioned brew won its place on the bar at the House of Commons ‘local’ after being recommended by Bury St Edmunds MP David Ruffley.

John Bexon, head brewer at Greene King, joined Mr Ruffley at the Stranger’s Bar to celebrate the honour on Wednesday.

He said: “It’s a great privilege for one of our beers to have made it to the heart of Government. We obviously think it’s worthy of such greatness, but it’s nice that it’s now official.”
