Good summer weather has seen Greene King report increased sales in its retail division, despite the Jubilee, Olympics, and European football last year.
Its retail pubs such as Hungry Horse, saw a 4.6 per cent increase in like for like sales for the first 18 weeks of the financial year to September 1.
Its retail estate has now reached 1,000 pubs with the opening of a Hungry House in North Tyneside.
The Bury St Edmunds firm also reported like for like sales in its tenanted divsion was up 2.7 per cent after interest and other deductions were taken into account.
Brewing and Brands saw a 2.7 per cent sales increase, led by Old Speckled Hen, which grew by 7.9 per cent.
