The fifth Girls Night Out event has raised a fantastic £115,037 for St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds.

More than a 1,000 women walked through the streets of Bury in seotember wearing pyjamas and flashing bunny ears to raise funds for the work of the hospice.

They walked either a six mile or 11.5mile course in the dark to fraise the funds.

Jenny Basket, hospice events and challenges fund-raiser said: “Girls Night Out 2013 was a fantastic event. More women thhan ever before took part - 1,020 - and between them they raised a staggering amount. I would like to thank each and every one of them as well as everyone behind the scenes for what they did.

The whole evening has a real party atmosphere, which means that many women take part year after year. We hope many will mark their diaries for this year’s event.”

The The Girls Night Out 2014 will be held on Saturday September 13 and registration will open in the sppring. See more on St Nicholas Hospice
