More than 160 runners and walkers took part in the Bury St Edmunds Sport Relief Mile on Sunday.

Participants got to choose to run a one mile, three mile or six mile course at the West Suffolk Athletics Arena at Bury Leisure Centre.

The enthusiastic entrants included two people doing a three-legged six mile run and one ten-year-old girl doing a mile of cartwheels.

National race walker Callum Wilkinson, a student at King Edward VI school, and under 20s Team GB 400m sprinter Ben Snaith got the race underway, handing out medals at the finishing line.

Keiran Williams, Abbeycroft Leisure’s Sport and Physical Activity Development Officer, said: “Sport Relief 2014 at Bury Leisure Centre was a great success, we had over 160 runners take part having a great time.

“It was great to see members of the public of all ages having fun raising money for charity.”
