Fire crews were busy yesterday, attending a number of incidents across West Suffolk.
Three engines from Bury St Edmunds were called to a house fire in St Nicholas Close, Bury, at 3.05pm.
Initially, crews believed people were inside the house but they accounted for everyone within about 15 minutes.
Two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera were used to fight the blaze.
At 4.05pm, two engines from Bury and crews from Elmswell and Long Melford attended Freewood Street, in Bradfield Combust, following reports of a chimney fire at a thatched property.
Firefighters arrived to find light smoke and had it under control by around 4.30pm.
Earlier, at 1pm, a crew from Mildenhall extinguished a chimney fire at a property in Evergreen Way, Mildenhall.
The incident was under control by about 1.35pm.
