Firecrews were called to at a house fire in Horringer Road, Bury St Edmunds this morning.
Smoke was seen coming from the second floor bedrooms in the three storey house near to the junction with Out Westgate and six appliances from Bury, Newmarket, Wickhambrook and Thetford attended.
Police report no casualties and the fire was brought under control shortly before 11am. Police were called to control traffic during the incident and the road remained closed for five hours.
Bury fire station commander Will Tell said: “The fire was contained in the top floor and nobody was injured. We’re now working with the occupants to reduce damage in the lower floors.
“The breathing apparatus team did a fantastic job getting to the heart of the fire. It was contained within 20 minutes.”
