A farewell celebration was held at the weekend for Chip Somers, founder of Bury St Edmunds drug and alcohol rehabilitation charity Focus 12.
The event was held at The Centre, in St John’s Street, for Mr Somers, who is running a private practice, in Harley Street, London.
He will remain as a patron of Focus 12, which he launched 16-years-ago and has treated close to 1,000 clients.
Mr Somers said: “I was delighted to have been given such a send-off. I think Focus 12 has made a real difference to the community in Bury. I believe the town is now one of the leading places for recovery in East Anglia and that legacy is something I will always cherish. It has been by far the most rewarding time in my career.”
