On February 23 I will enter the Great Suffolk Bake Off.

For my savoury bake I will present the judges with a Suffolk foccacia sweetened with honey made at Moreton Hall Prep School.

Honey has been made at the school for two years and they have expanded to house six hives.

Despite reports of declining bee populations elsewhere in the country Moreton Hall’s are thriving allowing students to learn how the honey is made.

The honey is also doing well and won first prize in its category at the Suffolk Agricultural Fair last year.

Students have also designed labels to go on the jars and profits from their sale go the school charity.

My jar of their award winning honey should be flavoured by the roses and lavender in the school’s grounds and be a brilliant edition to my bake off effort.
