This weekend sees The Big Onion Festival at Elveden Estate with a wonderful mix of great food and music where people can try tastes from across the area.
There will be food demonstration arranged by Scott Taylor, head chef at Elveden Courtyard Restaurant featuring some of the best chefs including Tuddenham Mill’s head chef Lee Bye and Morston Hall’s Richard Bainbridge.
Scott said: “It’s a 50/50 split between great food and music. The festival gives people a chance to try food and drink from artisan producers in a fun environment, whom they may not have known about.”
Elveden grows about six per cent of the British onion crop hence the festival name. A trade show on Friday in conjunction with Tastes of Anglia will also give producers a chance to impress larger businesses.
There are baking competitions, bungee trampolining, tractor and trailer rides and fun activities for children.
The festival runs tomorrow and Sunday 10am to 5pm. Contact 01842 898068.
