East Anglia’s most wanted man, who had been on the run from police since a shooting in Essex in August, has been arrested in North London.
Francis O’Donoghue was the subject of a police manhunt following the attempted murder of two men on a travellers’ site off Goatswood Lane, in Navestock, on August 27.
The shooting was the culmination of an ongoing neighbour feud which began outside a shop in East London earlier the same day.
Two men in their 20s from the Brentwood area received gunshot wounds to their legs and chest and underwent surgery.
Following a seven-week manhunt, a 27-year-old man from the Brentwood area was arrested in Southgate shortly after 10pm on Friday.
After having been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, he was taken to a London police station and is being questioned by detectives about the shooting in Navestock.
