A doctor has gone on trial accused of sexually assaulting a female member of staff at West Suffolk Hospital.
Olanrewaju Oladipo was employed last year on a short-term contract at the hospital, in Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds, when it is alleged two offences were committed.
Giving evidence to a jury at Ipswich Crown Court, the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claimed that Oladipo held her breast while trying to kiss her neck while on another occasion he rubbed her thigh.
Oladipo, 35, of Greenwood Drive, Watford, pleaded not guilty to two offences of sexually assaulting the woman on June 17 and June 20 last year.
Michael Crimp, prosecuting, said Oladipo was asked by the woman to speak to her child about pursuing a possible career in medicine and the pair exchanged text messages and phone calls.
Giving evidence, Oladipo said that as their friendship progressed the woman became increasingly ‘playful’ and flirted with him.
He said no inappropriate behaviour took place between himself and the woman.
The trial continues.
