Dance schools wins big at prestigious arts festival

Dancers from the Ann Holland School of Theatre Dance, in Barrow, did exceptionally well in Wednesday’s Sudbury Festival of Performing Arts.

Keziah Farrow won the junior (12 and under) aggregate cup and the adjudicator’s choice, while Frederika Anderson won the senior (13 and over) aggregate cup.

The dance school also won all of the group categories it entered, including the nine and under song and dance, 12 and under modern dance and senior modern dance.

Anne Stoten, principal of the school, said: “I’m delighted that we’re still going and the girls are still enjoying it so much. They’re such a lovely team and they, with the support of their parents, work so hard.”

“We always do quite well so I’m really pleased that the standard’s being maintained,” she added.

Performers from Bury St Edmunds’ Hazelwood School of Dance also did well, coming second in their section (modern dance group aged 13-18) at the festival.
