Three intrepid charity cyclists have donated a defibrillator to Stowmarket High School in honour of Lily Webster.

Julian Harvey, James Wilson and Darren Webb cycled 340 miles from London to Brussels with the aim of donating five of the life-saving devices. The team ended up raising enough for eleven.

On March 21, the trio presented the defibrillator to the school in honour of Lily, who died as a result of Sudden Death Syndrome in 20012.

Julian, who was a governor of the school at the time and had a son in the same year group as Lily, said to the students: “When I relayed your story to the rest of the team and told them how the pupils and staff had conducted themselves, with such courage and dignity, looking after each other whilst also raising money and awareness of your friend Lily, we agreed very quickly to donate a defibrillator to the school so the money you have raised can go a little further.”
