A piece of music celebrating the Magna Carta will be delivered to St Edmundsbury Cathedral on Sunday morning.

The anthem marking the 800th anniversary of the signing of the charter will be presented by cyclist Steve Brown, who is embarking on a 1,000 mile ride to deliver the music to churches and cathedrals across the country.

He set off from his home village of Odiham, in Hampshire, on Monday, July 21, where Malcolm Archer, director of chapel music at Winchester College, was commissioned to write the music.

St Edmundsbury Cathedral recently exhibited a 1215 copy of the Magna Carta and Odiham played an important role in the sealing of the charter.
