Thetford Town Council has submitted a revised planning application for the town’s long-awaited skatepark.
It was forced to find an alternative site when no solution could be found to last-minute concerns raised last year about access to the previous site, located next to Breckland Leisure Centre.
The site now being proposed is situated next to Thetford Academy, with access from Joe Blunt’s Lane.
The council says the original design, which many young people were involved in, will transfer to the new site.
Amenities chair Corinne Fulford said: “The Amenities Committee has worked long and hard to ensure this project is delivered and works for as many people as possible.
“Thetford’s youth has waited a very long time for this and we look forward to working with them and their parents on the skatepark’s management plan.”
A decision is expected to be made by February 10.
