The consideration of applications for 191 homes in Kentford has been postponed after the developer threatened a judicial review.

Persimmon Homes has submitted applications to Forest Heath District Council to build 93 homes at Gazeley Road and 98 homes at Herringswell Road.

Both applications were due to be considered by the council this evening.

However consideration has been delayed after the council received a formal Letter Before Claim from Bob McGeady, Ashton KCJ consultant, on behalf of Persimmon Homes, relating to a potential Judicial Review.

Cllr Rona Burt, Forest Heath Cabinet member for Planning, Housing and Transport, said: “It is extremely unfortunate that the Judicial Review claimants chose to email their formal letter to us the day before Development Control Committee was due to take a decision on the Kentford applications. Due to their timing, they have put us in the position of needing to withdraw both applications at this very late stage so we can respond formally to the letter, however we will reschedule the decision as soon as possible.”
