A West Suffolk firm has launched a ‘wood is good’ design competition aimed at emphasising the importance of conservation and recycling.

AJ Laminated Beams, in Cross Green, Cockfield, is inviting all Suffolk and Norfolk schools to enter and wants to encourage eco-school coordinators and design teachers to get their students involved.

There are three age categories, up to 10 years, 10 to 16 years and over 16.

The winners from each category will win £100 vouchers of their choice, £200 for their school and will have their design manufactured out of recycled wood.

To enter, participants must design something on paper stating why they have chosen to draw it and include an explanation of what it is or does.

The closing date for entries is April 17.

To download entry forms, go to www.ajlaminatedbeams.co.uk or, for more details, email info@ajlaminatedbeams.co.uk
