Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli will be firing up flavours of Italy at the food and drink festival in Bury St Edmunds.
The festival gets underway on Sunday with special guest Mark Poynton from the Michelin starred Alimentum in Cambridge will be giving cookery demonstrations in the Aga Rangemaster Kitchen Theatre outside Moyses Hall on the Cornhill.
There will also be demonstrations by Gastrono-me, Pea Porridge, Maison Bleue, The Angel Hotel. Graze, Palmers and Frankie and Benny’s.
Monday meanwhile will see Aldo Zilli in action.
The festival will also see will be a farmers’ market on Angel Hill, a chilli festival in Langton Place, a beer festival at the Old Cannon Brewery and a rum festival at the So Bar.
The festival has been organised by Bid4Bury.
Its chief executive Mark Cordell said: “This weekend
celebrates food and drink from the very best of what’s on offer in Bury and the local area to international cuisine.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming Mark Poynton and Aldo Zilli, whose demonstrations are bound to be extremely popular, and I am delighted that following the success of our inaugural event last year more Bid4Bury member businesses are getting involved in the festival as well.”
For younger visitors there will be a range of children’s activities including face painting in Cornhill Walk, a magician in the Buttermarket and The Traverse will host a Teddy Bears Picnic, rides for the children and a bouncy castle.
