A fir tree has been placed on the roof of the newly completed Davers Court Care Home, which will open to residents in summer 2014.

The tree was placed on the roof of the Bury St Edmunds home during a topping out ceremony, which also celebrated the first anniversary of Care UK’s partnership with Suffolk County Council.

On December 1, 2012, Care UK embarked on a £60 million improvement project for the council’s 16 care homes.

One year on the construction of seven of 10 new homes are under way.

Alan Murray, Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for health and adult care, said: “It is great to see Davers Court heading towards completion and pleasing that the development plan is on track.

“The first year partnership with Care UK has proven to be very successful.”
