A woman who caused a crash in which a Needham Market pensioner suffered fatal injuries had been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work.
Alison Roberts, 52, of Lower Farm Road, Ringshall, claimed that her visibility was cut by a sudden deluge of water on Barking Road in Needham Market on July 19 last year.
She pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving last month but was later convicted by a jury.
On Tuesday Roberts was sentenced for the offence which led to the death of Mary Dann, 73, a passenger in a car being driven by her husband John Dann.
Mrs Dann remained in intensive care for three weeks after the crash before being allowed home but was readmitted on October 9 and died on December 29.
Roberts was told to pay £2,000 prosecution costs, was banned from driving for two years and given a 12 month community order.
