Car drives into oncoming traffic in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car drove towards oncoming traffic, caused a collision and drove off in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident took place at around 2.50pm on Tuesday May 13 on the approach slip road to Robert Boby Way off Parkway.

A blue Ford Fiesta was reported to have been travelling the wrong way towards oncoming traffic before causing a collision between a Chevrolet Cruze and another Ford Fiesta.

The blue Ford Fiesta failed to stop, turning around and driving off at speed towards St Andrews Street.

It is believed to have originally come out of either the car park of Halfords or Waitrose.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact PC Samantha Ostley at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference CAD 246 of 13 May.
