Pregnancy has inspired The Coffee House to step up fund-raising efforts at its shops in Bury St Edmunds and Ixworth.

Owners Lucy Newell and Jess Darnell are appealing for people to guess the baby weight and date of birth of Jess’ newborn when it arrives in the autumn, as part of their Towergate Accumulator Challenge in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Entry costs £1, with free coffee for a month for the person who makes the closest guess.

Staff have also organised a fund-raising black tie casino night at the Cricket Pavilion, Victory Ground, in Nowton Road, Bury, from 7.30pm on September 20.

Tickets cost £50 per couple including bubbly, canapés and a £10 stake. The top prize is a Caribbean holiday.

For tickets, email thecoffeehouseno1@gmail.com
