Bury St Edmunds recycling guru Karen Cannard has joined forces with Cafe del Mar to host an entertaining evening to help others clamp down on food waste and save money.

The ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ event, which also involves Sustainable Bury, at the restaurant, in St John’s Street on September 10, boasts top tips such as storage ideas, portion advice and what food labels really mean.

Meanwhile, Maria Broadbent, owner of Cafe del Mar, will share some of her secrets on how the business makes the most of food. Mrs Cannard said the average household throws away £470 worth of food a year. The event, from 6pm-9pm, is free but places are limited. To reserve email Karen@therubbishdiet.org.uk or call 07957432858.
