Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 105th anniversary this summer.
A recent trawl through its archives revealed that the organisation had narrowly missed its centenary - so the committee decided to celebrate its 105th instead.
The chamber is planning a party at Greene King’s Brewery Tap on Friday June 27 with live music, a bar and hot food and is now looking for sponsorship for the event.
As part of the night, Chairman Colin Knight said the chamber is looking to present a history of the organisation.
He is calling anyone with information on its early years to get in touch.
“We started doing some digging in our records and found that unfortunately we had just missed our 100th anniversary but that we will ne 105 this year.
“Having looked through the old documents it is strange that some of the issues that are being discussed today were being discussed 100 years ago.
“We are keen to look through the records to find out about old members of the chamber. If anybody out there thinks they can remember that long ago we would be delighted to hear from them.”
