B&Q in the UK and Ireland has seen its sales fall by 2.3 per cent to £906m.

It said it was due to the ‘weak consume backdrop’.

The figures for the third quarter were announced by parent group Kinfisher.

But B&Q did see profits rise by 1.7 per cent to £45m due in part to higher margins.
