Army video captures the drama of Apache squadron life in Afghanistan

The Army has issued a dramatic video capturing the front line life of Wattisham’s Apache attack helicopter crews serving in Afghanistan.

Constantly on ‘Very High Readiness’ (VHR) the Apache Longbow Attack Helicopter can be called to a ‘Shout’ at a moment’s notice.

The attack helicopter of the British Army, the Apache Longbow has significantly improved the operational capabilities of the ground troops its crews, who have included Prince Harry, protect.

The helicopter can operate in all weathers day or night and can detect and engage multiple targets with its arsenal of Hellfire missiles, rockets and 30mm cannon.

The Apache has been in service since 2001 and the fleet is due for £430 mil upgrade to further increase its capabilities.
