The Royal Artillery Association’s Bury St Edmunds branch is reminding World War Two veterans that they are eligible for the Legion d’Honneur, the French equivalent of an MBE, if they served in the liberation of France.

It is open to all service people, but the association warns the offer is ‘not open ended’.

The Bury branch is also planning to hold gatherings for all ex-Royal Artillery service people and their partners on the first Friday of each month. The first will be at the Regency Hotel, Bury, between 11am to 1pm on Friday October 3.

The branch welcomes new members. Contact Catherine Buchanan on 01284 763807 orcallsaints@btinternet.com
