The Angel Hotel has had its food hygiene rating upgraded from zero to three stars after a re-inspection.
Robert Gough, the owner of the historic Bury St Edmunds hotel had promised to defend its reputation after St Edmundsbury Borough Council inspectors downgraded it from four to zero.
On Tuesday Gough Hotels operations director Lynne Cowan said: “We always had confidence in our systems in the hotel and were really happy to have resolved our issues with the council.
“I’m happy with where we are and look forward to getting back on track and boosting our star rating.”
In November Mr Gough said a consultant viewed the council’s scoring as ‘misleading’.
