Dr Anthony Marsh, chief executive of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, was presented with the Queen’s Ambulance Medal by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace on Friday

On receiving the award, Dr Marsh said: “I’m honoured to have received this prestigious award; however I couldn’t have done so without the hard work and dedication of my ambulance service colleagues.

“I’m extremely proud to have been part of the service for 27 years now, and I look forward to continuing to work to improve the service that we offer to patients in the east of England.”

The medal is awarded to recognise distinguished service within the ambulance service, and the news came just a week after Dr Marsh was named as one of the top 50 Chief Executives in the NHS.
