The A11 will be closed between the B1085 at Red Lodge and Fiveways Roundabout at Barton Mills for eight nights from January 14, to allow for concrete carriage repairs.
The work will take place between 9pm and 6am.
A spokesperson for the Highways Agency said the work was a ‘relatively small maintenance scheme’.
A 50mph speed limit will be imposed on the A11 northbound to slow traffic in advanced of the closure.
Traffic will be diverted to the C610 (Worlington Road), the B1102 (The Street) and the A1101 (Bury Road).
During the closures access to the A11 will be prohibited from Newmarket Road, Herringswell Road and Tuddenham Road.
