Give café a break
What a shame that Costa Coffee insists on enforcing a clause in their lease to prevent Muffin Break customers sitting outside (Bury Free Press, June 8). There are often long queues at Costa and a lack of clear tables, which suggests there is enough demand to let Muffin Break have the additional tables without undue harm to Costa’s business. Costa is one the largest coffee chains in the UK, with well over a thousand branches, whereas Muffin Break as fewer than 60, so I say ‘come on Costa, waive the clause, give customers a choice’.
