THE Curry family are used to celebrating a birthday a day early on three years out of four, but now they will be marking two.

Last week Sinead Curry gave birth to Bonnie on February 29 and she will now shares her birthday with her aunt Georgia who is 16 and has only had three ‘official’ birthdays.

Bonnie’s proud grandmother Lindsay Curry, of Gloucester Road, Bury St Edmunds, said: “I can’t believe it! She was supposed to have been born on March 4 so she was a few days early, but she’s fine.”

Lindsay said: “We’ve always celebrated Georgia’s birthday on the 28th and my daughter is going to do the same for Bonnie.”

The Honor Society of Leap Year Day Babies, a free online club with nearly 10,000 members, says about five million people worldwide share Georgia and Bonnie’s birthday and the odds of being born on the 29th are one in 1,461.

Last week David and Louise Estes from Utah had their third consecutive leap baby. Bonnie joins famous leap day babies including composer Gioachino Rossini and former Ipswich and Arsenal player Darren Ambrose.
