Work Club helps job seekers

A GROUP of former employers and senior managers have set up a Work Club to give tips of the trade to people looking for work.

The group, which meets at the SNAP Community Room at St Mary’s Church in Bacton, will offer tips in CV writing, interview techniques to help those looking for work get the job they want.

Brian Manley, an ex CEO of a London based advertising company said: “We understand that quite a lot of people are claiming Job Seekers Allowance in Bacton and the surrounding villages. We want to help people maximise their opportunities and make the most of their skills. We want to help improve their job search techniques, CV writing, interview techniques, self marketing and to provide personal mentoring.

“SNAP Work Club is working with Job Centre Plus and other agencies, involving local employers, offering personal advice and encouraging mutual support.

“The club is run by people who have been successful in the world of work, and we can draw on our life experience to help others. In these uncertain times, we want to offer support and skills to job seekers.”
