WORD searches and daily newspapers have been championed by the daughter of a centenarian.
Davers Court’s oldest resident, Avery Chaplin, a grandmother of two and great-grandmother of four, was joined by 45 friends and family from all over the country to celebrate her birthday on Sunday.
Daughter Hazel Middleton said: “It’s a huge thing in somebody’s life, a real achievement to get to 100.”
Davers Court’s team leader Clare McCallister said: “She thoroughly enjoyed it and said it was so lovely that everybody cared enough to come to the party.”
Born in Woodbridge, Mrs Chaplin lived in Bradfield Combust and Great Whelnetham before moving to the Bury St Edmunds care home three years ago.
