Woman not guilty of causing car crash

A woman has been cleared of causing a car crash in Stowmarket which left two people seriously injured.

Sophia Obeyaa Dankwa, 26, of Wattisham Airfield, was found not guilty of driving without due care and attention at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Mrs Dankwa, driving a red Toyota Corolla, was involved in collision with a white Citroen AX on Gipping Way in Stowmarket on January 14 last year.

The crash left driver Samuel Thompson with a shattered knee and broken ankle and his girlfriend with a broken rib and bruising.

Magistrates said there was not enough evidence to show that Mrs Dankwa caused the collision.
